General

Can I get a height-adjustable worksurface specified with casters?

Yes, casters are available through Steelcase Specials. Please include the table and configuration you are specifying.

What is the maximum worksurface overhang allowed when installing on Series 3, Series 5 and Series 7 height-adjustable bases?

The maximum overhang allowed, on either side of the base, is 12”. If additional overhang (up to 15”) is required, the table must be specified through Specials as the worksurface will need additional reinforcements for support.

What is the difference between Series 3, Airtouch, Series 5 and Series 7?

Series 3 is a crank height-adjustable table that adjusts for seated height only. Airtouch uses an innovative mechanism to adjust from sit-to-stand. Series 5 and Series 7 are electric height-adjustable tables that adjust from sit-to-stand. Series 5 and Series 7 differ in the features. Can I have height-adjustable table ship assembled?

Because of the weight of each unit and to avoid damage in transit it is best for the height-adjustable table to be assembled on site and then set into place.

Worksurface Style

Can I order a Urethane Profile worksurface with a Series 3, Series 5 or Airtouch base?

Yes, Urethane Profile worksurfaces are available through Specials.

Can I order a Knife edge worksurface with my height-adjustable base?

Yes, Knife edge worksurfaces are available through Specials.

If I want to match my adjacent Steelcase worksurfaces, can I order a P-edge worksurface with my height-adjustable base?

Details currently offers the 3mm edge banding as standard on Series 3, Airtouch, Series 5 and Series 7. Airtouch also comes standard with P-edge. Contact Steelcase Specials to determine if a P-edge worksurface will work with your Series 3, Series 5 or Series 7 application.

Worksurface Size

Can I order a worksurface width that is not available in your literature?

Recognizing that our standard sizes will not satisfy all needs please contact Steelcase Specials to quote other shapes and sizes.

Can I order a height-adjustable base and use my own worksurface?

Please reference the Details SpecCatalog for information on what size Series 3, Series 5 or Series 7 base will work with your existing worksurface. Airtouch is not recommended for use with your own worksurface.

Finishes

What laminates and edge colors does Details offer on its height-adjustable worksurfaces?

Details offers the complete Steelcase laminate and 3mm edge color options. In addition, Airtouch is available in P-edge colors and Series 7 is available in Urethane Profile edge colors. Laminates and edge colors are specifiable separately.

Can I order a laminate that is not part of the Steelcase palette?

Yes, please contact Specials for information on specifying Customer Own Laminates (COL).

Can I order a Series 3, Series 5 or Series 7 height-adjustable base in a color other than Black or Platinum?

No. At this time, other base color options are not available.
